Kindergarten Steffanie Baldwin
Welcome to Ms. Baldwin’s Kindergaten Class! We love to learn and play. Oh and don’t forget dance! We keep our brains on over drive and we constantly reinforce it, by Kissing it! Stop and tell your child to kiss their brain when they are doing something correct. They love it. Here is what we are currently working on:
Reading- We are starting to READ BOOKS!! We already know 33 sight words and are in the process of learning reading strategies. If you child is struggling with a word, ask your child to use a stategy (cross check with picture, look for a familiar word within that word, get your mouth ready for the beginning sound, does it make sense, sound right, look right?) If they do self correct themselves, promote that as well. Your children are wonderful readers who have made leaps and bounds. I appreciate any help you can do at home to promote good strong readers!!
Writing- Writing two complete sentences using our sight words and writers eye
Math- We are currently learning simple addition, counting to 100, patterns, clocks to the nearest hour and quarter, nickel, dime, and penny. Anything you can practice at home would be wonderful!
